This solution provides customers with access to powerful Avaya Communication Manager telephony capabilities from a properly-configured laptop through Avaya IP Softphone. With wireless connectivity from the laptop to either an Avaya Wireless LAN or a Multivendor Wireless LAN, employees have mobile access to Communication Manager and other applications throughout the campus. The Avaya LAN/WAN Consulting service can plan the appropriate Wireless network solution. An optional Clarisys USB handset is available to those who desire a traditional handset and dialpad; other users will prefer a headset and microphone combination and the IP Softphone's dialing options.
Additionally, VPN remote client software and Security gateways can be made offered to provide secure voice and data communications over wireless or public IP networks. In this fashion, not only can employees be mobile within the campus but also at their home office, customer location or hotel room - wherever they have an internet connection.
