Dialog Designer is a Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) based on the widely accepted Eclipse open-source development framework.  A visual development environment enables rapid prototyping and application generation without explicit coding. Telephony call flows and speech grammars are represented as graphical objects, which developers then drag-and-drop into place.

Support for VoiceXML 2.1 Voice Dialog applications, as well as ccXML 1.0 applications, continues with Dialog Designer 4.1.  Several new features and functions have been introduced in  Dialog Designer 4.1, including Multiple Call Flows; design, simulation, and deployment of  3-way conferences;  programmable Enhanced Call Classification  for answering machine/human detection and fax tone detection (with ccXML and VXML); and Localization Bundles support for Optional Packages.

What's New With This Release

Dialog Designer 4.1 delivers the expanded value proposition associated with advanced call control through support of design, integration, and simulation of ccXML applications. With release 4.1, Dialog Designer continues to support VoiceXML 2.1 Voice Dialog applications as well as ccXML 1.0 call control applications.

In addition, Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) and contact center capabilities are enhanced through advanced scaling and failover features. Simpler application management and phrase management provide greater usability.

Business Benefits

Simplifies development, integration, reusability of speech and touch-tone applications, delivering lifecycle costs than traditional IVR development environments
Significantly reduce time and cost of application prototyping and design via design wizards for integrating Web Services, recording phrases, building prompts, plus other functions
Unprecedented coverage of customer self-service, employee-facing productivity, and advanced call control application areas. The embedded VoiceXML 2.1 and CCXML 1.0 browsers allows fast simulation and debug of speech, voice, and call control applications
Ensures consistent and more reliable deployment of voice enabled services and applications via sharing of the same VoiceXML browser componentry across Voice Portal and Interactive Response
Maximizes use of existing tooling investments for more rapid deployment of web based voice applications via the open Eclipse-based framework

FEATURES

Java-based Architecture for Hosting and Integration
Open integration across platforms and tooling frameworks
