Nancy Scott is Managing Corporate Counsel for Avaya, with responsibility in EMEA for legal matters in Northern Europe and Southern Africa. Avaya designs, builds and manages communications networks for more than one million businesses worldwide, including more than 90 percent of the FORTUNE 500®. Focused on businesses large to small, Avaya is a world leader in secure and reliable Internet Protocol (IP) telephony software applications, systems and services. Nancy grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada and received a Masters in Political Science (International Relations) at the University of Toronto, before studying law at the University of British Columbia. After qualifying as a barrister & solicitor in Canada, she hopped a plane to Europe with the hope of an international legal career, where she eventually ended up in England. Nancy first landed at Eversheds, a large, English law firm but really gained invaluable in-house experience working at First Mark Communications, a company that was in charge of setting up Europe’s first EU-wide broadband network. Nancy joined Avaya over 7 years ago, and supports all legal activities of the company in her region, including commercial, employment, corporate and other legal matters. |
